Councillor Heather Garratt Bio

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother with strong historical family ties to the Georgian Bay community. An entrepreneur in the hospitality and  dining business, I have owned and operated several small businesses from an in home bakery which catered to both the business community and the general public to a family dining restaurant proudly bearing my family name.

I have been a Métis Council member for almost 8 years.

6 years as the Treasurer and now a Councillor at Large.

I am a proud citizen for 21 years and an active contributor to the preservation of Métis traditions and heritage.

I have planned and coordinated Métis Events such as fish fries and holiday celebrations. I have prepared several traditional Métis meals and foods have a great interest in the preparation of a variety of Métis meats and sweets.
